"It's that Crazy Time of the Year!"

Christmas time is my favorite time of the year, but it is also the craziest time of the year. It is suppose to be a time of sharing good will and peace with others, but when you go to shop for Christmas it becomes a hair raising event.

Recently I went to a well known box store and was looking for a parking place. I watched as an elderly lady raced for a parking place...I guess she thought I might beat her to the spot. Then in the store I watched as people left their Christmas spirit at the doorway and raced to get that last "hot" Christmas present.

I sometimes wonder what Christ must think of us and the way we handle the celebration of his birth. That he must think, "why do they get so distracted from the real meaning of this season and why do they concentrate more on the gifts than they do on me?"

I pray that so far your preparation for Christmas has been a good one. That you have not lost the feeling of the Christ Child in all that you do and say. If this has been a tough time for you...take time out to talk with God and strengthen your spiritual batteries. It will be the best thing you can do for yourself!
